- Bring a cutting board that fits on your lap. It makes preparing your lunch a lot easier when you're in a car and it can be rinsed off at a gas station.
- Electric fondue pots can be used for boiling water, cooking rice, steaming vegetables or scrambling eggs.
- Keep a cooler in your car. Many supermarkets sell roast chicken and you can store the extra chicken in the cooler for another meal. (Make sure the chicken is gluten free!)
- A block of ice lasts longer than ice cubes.
- Bring some GF food with you if you're flying in case you miss your connecting flight -- or they forget your GF meal.
- If your airline doesn't provide gluten free meals, request a fruit plate. Most airlines offer it and since it contains an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables, it should be gluten free.
- Request an unstocked refrigerator in your hotel. Buy your own gluten free foods at the local supermarket and prepare your own meals.
- Ice for your cooler is available at all hotels/motels. Keep the ice in quart size zip-lock bags to keep other food in your cooler dry.
