February 21, 2008:

There is a typo in the Ingredient Checker tool (part of the USA Food SmartList). Malt Extract is NOT gluten free. The comment that goes with it reads: "The terms 'malt extract' or 'malt syrup' unqualified are applied only to products prepared from barley. If any other malted grain is used - the extract/syrup may be designated by a specific name such as 'extract of malted barley and corn.' " This will be corrected in the next update.
